GSS is a small consultancy specialising in the analysis and interpretation of potential field data acquired in the course of all types of geophysical surveys, and in developing software to facilitate these tasks. Potent
Potent is a Windows application that provides a highly interactive framework for 3-D modelling of magnetic and gravity data.Мощный Приложение Windows, которое служит очень интерактивной основой для 3D моделирования данных о силе тяжести и магнитных.
This example uses one of Geosoft's Oasis montaj sample datasets. The top left window shows the entire TMI dataset as a grid. The bottom left window shows the subset of data around the two anomalies of interest. The top right window shows an ENE section across this region. The anomalies have been modelled as a dyke and a flat tabular structure. The blue crosses are the observed TMI field, and the red line is the calculated field due to the model. The bottom right window shows the calculated field due to the model as an image at the same colour stretch as the observed field.
Potent works in 3-D space. Observation points can have height and ground clearance associated with them. The bodies that constitute the model are all able to be translated and rotated in three dimensions.
The field due to the model is calculated at the true position of the observations, thereby incorporating elevation effects such as those due to topography or aircraft height.
PotentQ
PotentQ is a simplified and streamlined version of Potent, our mainstream potential field modelling tool.PotentQ - упрощенная и оптимизированная версия Мощных, нашего господствующего потенциального инструмента моделирования области.
PotentQ is designed for rapid semi-automatic modelling of a single magnetic and/or gravity anomaly using up to three bodies chosen from seven possible geometries.
Modelling speed is achieved through:
Close integration with Geosoft's Oasis montaj data interface;
A highly streamlined modelling interface that builds on the simplicity arising from the single anomaly / three body configuration.
A specially formulated inversion scheme that generally requires no user intervention.
In this image the profile pane of an Oasis montaj database window (bottom) has an anomaly highlighted. PotentQ (top window) has been used to generate the dyke-like model to fit the anomaly.
PotentQ allows you to model up to three magnetic and gravity field components simultaneously. For example, you might model all three components of downhole magnetic data; click here to see an example.
EM-Q
The EM-Q application was developed in collaboration with Fugro Airborne Surveys (now the Airborne Surveys Division of CGG). It provides a simple and quick way of using moments of the impulse response to interpret a transient electromagnetic (TEM) anomaly. Recover geographically referenced magnetic components from the measured tool-referenced components. The output file can be imported into Potent for modelling.
